No.3, No.4 Boilers FGD Project Kicks Off

        The No.3 and No.4 boilers flue gas desulfurization (FGD) project of SPC Thermoelectricity General Plant has recently kicked off, which marked the launch of another large eco-friendly project in the SPC's structure adjustment after putting the No.1 and No.2 boilers FGD devices into production.

        The No.3 and No.4 boilers FGD project, by the limestone desulfurization technique, will be completed in April, 2009. After being put into production, it will reduce a yearly emission of 7,000-ton sulfur dioxide based on the designed capacity. Meanwhile, the waste residue accruing from the FGD process can be used in the building material industry, without environmental pollution. 

        SPC, in accordance with the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan", signed a commitment document of total pollutants control with the Shanghai Municipal Government in 2007. Therefore, with the goal of building itself into "An Energy-saving and Eco-friendly Enterprise" and implementing the sustainable development strategy, SPC has been promoting the major FGD project to firmly fulfill its commitment.
