SPC Reforming Project Put into Production

On September 15, SPC's reforming project with an annual output of 1 million tons completed and put into production. The Engineering Department of SINOPEC has sent the congratulatory message.

This project is the key construction project of SPC, also the most important project among all SPC's engineering projects of structure adjustment with the most investment amount of RMB2.97 billion in total. This project consists of seven sets of devices for continuous reforming, aromatics abstraction, disproportionation, isomerization, adsorption and separation, xylene fractionation and pressure swing adsorption unit for hydrogen purification, respectively. This project was started on February 18, 2008. Through preparation in design, manufacturing and rectification and optimization of plan, goods and materials and personnel for start-up, SPC only spent 16 and a half months, 75 days and 21.5 hours to finish engineering construction, production preparation and the process from batch feeding to production of qualified products, respectively. 

The relevant devices of this project adopted both the most advanced patent technology of USA based UOP Company and the most advanced process engineering in China, which not only ensures the clean production in the production process, but also realizes the comprehensive utilization and standardized discharge of waste water, gas and residue. The thermal combination technology adopted in this project also enables the downstream device use the heat produced during the production process of the upstream device, thus cutting the comprehensive energy consumption of the devices by about 1/3 compared with that of the old aromatics device for energy saving and emission reduction.

The completion and production of this project can further give play to SPC's advantages in integration of oil refining and chemical industry as well as the optimized allocation of resources, thus raising the ability of raw oil treatment for higher economic efficiency.
