Polypropylene, High-end Food Package Material Fills Blank in China
Recently, the M850B product of copolymer of propylene and butene, developed by the Plastics Division of SPC, has been put into commercial trial production. This technology, the first of its kind ever in China, fills the blank in the field of food package material in the package industry, with 1% n-hexane extracts out of polypropylene resin. According to the national standard, the n-hexane extracts out of polypropylene resin must be under 2%. The new product developed by the Plastics Division will have a promising prospect in food and medicine packaging and other industries. Even in foreign countries, there are only a few companies which have the ability to produce such product. So far, more than 100 tons of the products have been manufactured.
