SPC Rounds off Phase II Yangu Gas Production

Shanghai Petrochemical Yangu Gas Development Co., Ltd. has rounded off the phase II project. The project turns out 40,000 tons of food-grade liquid carbon dioxide (with the purity up to 99.99%) a year by using waste carbon dioxide emitted from SPC's glycol devices. Plus the original phase I device, 75,000 tons of food-grade carbon dioxide in total could be produced each year.

The phase I and II projects, in line with relevant stipulations of comprehensive resource utilization, help energy saving and emission reduction. So, the two projects have enjoyed the preferential policy on value added tax ("Rebate upon Levy") for comprehensive utilization of carbon dioxide resources in 2009 upon approval by relevant authority of Shanghai. About RMB3.70 million tax rebates could be obtained each year, which brings a win-win in economic and eco-friendly returns.
